Seminar: "Using AI in the Humanities Classroom: Writing Essays and Scientific Posters"

The recent emergence of Artificial Intelligence as a tool to free people from tedious tasks—allowing them to devote more time to creative work or simply enjoy leisure activities—has sparked growing debate within the educational community. While some educators embrace AI as a technology that supports self-directed learning and lifelong learning, others warn of the potential risks of mechanizing mental processes in ways that could ultimately affect brain plasticity.

This seminar presents two classroom activities that use Artificial Intelligence to support the production of critical essays and scientific posters for literature teaching. These activities are designed around instructional strategies that mitigate the aforementioned risks. Both emphasize human-supervised use of AI, with assessment criteria focused on the learning process rather than solely on learning outcomes.
