Research Beyond the University: From Campus to the Classroom
On the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (11F), several members of our Department once again brought science and research beyond the university environment, taking them directly into secondary school classrooms.
Last Monday, our predoctoral researchers María Abizanda-Cardona and Marta Bagüés Bautista visited IES Tiempos Modernos as part of the initiative “Women Researchers in the Classroom.” During their visit, they shared their research experience with students, reflected on the role of women in science, and created a space for dialogue around scientific vocations, equal opportunities, and the challenges that still persist in academia.
Likewise, on Thursday of the same week, our predoctoral researchers Amanda Cámara Gamazo, Alessandra Martín González, and Denisa Alexandra Mircea carried out an outreach activity at IES Río Gállego. The session enabled them to present their research lines to students and to highlight the importance of the humanities within today’s scientific landscape.
These activities formed part of our ongoing commitment to the social transfer of knowledge and to promoting female role models in science. We firmly believe that research should not be limited to the university sphere, but should engage in dialogue with society and actively contribute to building a more equal future.
