IV ICLHE Regional Group Symposium

Supporting teaching and learning in ICLHE: from policies to students

The ICLHE Regional Group Symposium is pleased to announce its IV Symposium which will be held onsite on 8-9 June 2023  at the University of Zaragoza (Spain), organised by the CLIC@unizar group.

Who?

The symposium will bring together researchers and practitioners of ICLHE (Integrating Content and Language in Higher Education), and English-Medium Education (EME) from all over Spain who would like to share their experiences and engage in lively and fruitful discussions. It combines two keynote lectures with  presentations by teachers, teacher educators and researchers.

Keynote speakers:

Dr Thomas Morton, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, Spain

Dr Maria Kuteeva, Stockholm University, Sweden

What?

We welcome contributions that cover any aspect of ICLHE or EME and whose focus is on supporting quality teaching-learning processes in the context of Higher Education. Such support can be very varied and range from institutional support, in the form of internationalization policies in general and language policies in particular,  training programmes for faculty staff and university students, to methodological support in the form of strategies, techniques and resources for the successful development of competences.

There are many factors and stakeholders that come into play in the process of teaching through the medium of English in the university context and all of them have an impact on this endeavor. We would like to receive proposals that explore how some of these factors have been successfully addressed, overcoming possible challenges in different contexts and from different perspectives, transforming them into opportunities that lead to the improvement of teaching and learning in ICLHE.

We invite proposals for short, individual or joint, 10-minute presentations (followed by a 5-minute discussion). We look forward to knowing about the research and experiences carried out in different ICLHE settings in Spain.

The conference languages are English and Spanish.
